From the recording Hell Is A Place On Earth
Lyrics
(Verse 1)
There is a place where life is ignored,
Where platitudes are given more value.
Where false ideas are held up on high,
But are filled with vast emptiness.
Pushed on the masses, with such glee,
With dehumanizing effects, for all to see.
(Pre-Chorus)
What one does is the world they create!
A world filled with love or with hate!
Created by those with no name!
Created by those with no shame!
(Chorus)
Oh, hell is a place on Earth!
It's within hearts with no love!
They steal life with disturbing ease!
While thinking themselves righteous!
It's impossible to tell the difference,
Between their words of hatred and morality!
Creating a world of mass indifference,
To suffering of the most vulnerable, that I see!
(Verse 2)
The evening news tells them who to fear,
Who to support with their blindfolds on.
Don't look at the person behind the camera.
Don't look at facts that reveal what's wrong.
Keep your fear close, and the other far away,
For the truth is just too unacceptable to stay.
(Verse 3)
Blaming victims for the harm they receive,
For their god only punishes the guilty.
Allowing a harm to the utmost degree,
Forgetting how to show basic empathy,
Or dignity, this is what I perceive.
(Pre-Chorus)
A world of allies doesn't work,
For those in shadows that lurk.
Who prey on the most credulous,
Whose words are most venomous!
(Bridge)
The problem with presenting false choices,
Is that education can break those chains.
If the heart is open, it makes fear weak,
There is no place for it in curiosity.
And a stranger has something to teach,
If we know how to listen, and not speak...
(Outro)
But even with all of this being stated,
True as this is, it's not the end of the story.
One can find love in those they've hated,
To stop trepidation, embrace them warmly!
If they can stop following toxic leaders,
By seeing the bias of their preachers,
And show love for all of life's creatures.
For it's hard enough, without hate's features!
