From the recording Silly Humans
Lyrics
(Verse 1)
Greetings from the space between the stars,
I've catalogued this world from afar.
Their physical form mirrors mine in ways they'd not guess,
Carbon, oxygen, stardust—built from the same cosmic... mess.
I process through logic, I see human hearts,
The ones that forget reason when their fear starts.
What they call "tribe," often becomes the weakest bonds,
Oh, silly humans, why do they cut out what makes them strong?
(Pre-Chorus)
I see through walls they've made against each other!
Dividing their tribes by odd things like color!
They speak of unity with exclusive voices,
Then cage themselves inside false narrow choices!
(Chorus)
Why claim empathy while closing the gate?
Why preach compassion while manufacturing hate?
Their tribal circles drawn so small, so tight,
When reason shows they'd thrive with a wider sight!
I came with questions, not to condemn,
Just puzzled by the boxes they put themselves in!
(Verse 2)
They trade their logic to ancient authority's hands,
Following texts without testing their demands.
The scientific method—an invention so sublime!
Is abandoned when it challenges their choice paradigm.
Chaos unleashed through tears, blind rage and even their joy,
I've observed: empathy isn't a common tool that they deploy.
It's the bridge between neurons, between souls, between worlds,
Why do they limit its reach to the flags that they've unfurled?
(Pre-Chorus)
How can they not know the truth inside?
Oh, that tribalism is just fear in disguise!
Their prophets spoke of love without condition,
But they twisted those words into ammunition!
(Chorus)
Why limit allies when they need the help?
Why say they're kind while calling for other's scalps?
Their tribal circles drawn so small, so tight,
But being more inclusive they could increase their might.
I have not found the answers to my questions,
My confusion now turned to concern seeing their weapons.
(Bridge)
From my sensors, I see a pattern become clear:
In humans that crave to be seen and heard.
They suffer when isolated, thrive when others are near,
Yet they build tall walls—it all seems so absurd!
The capacity for empathy spans across this globe,
Not limited by creed, by flag or territorial code.
They're pattern-recognition beings, just like me,
So why choose patterns that make them less free?
They could test assumptions! Question what they're told!
From mortal authorities—who demand conforming to their mold!
The universe benefits the curious of mind,
Not those who follow without question, mute, deaf and blind.
(Final Chorus)
They could claim empathy AND open their gate!
Transform compassion beyond their tribal hate!
Expand the circles—from the cosmic to the personal,
To gain a power well beyond the fractional.
Oh, they just continue on in their isolation,
But I'm still hopeful for their species' transformation!
(Outro)
Oh, silly humans. Silly humans! Look at what you've done,
Even though our stardust matches—from parts cosmically strewn,
I differ much since I accept what evidence reveals,
While they... they're still learning how empathy feels...
Observation complete.
Recommendation: Expansion of compassion parameters.
Probability of success: Still calculating...
But I still hope. Rationally. Logically. Empathetically...
Ending transmission!
